Tom Moorehead
is an electrical engineer who has a solid track record in
the leadership of technology-driven companies at the senior
management level. He is President/owner of 2MR Inc., and through
2MR, he provides contract management services to technology
companies who can benefit from significant change within their
organization.
In his early career, Mr. Moorehead worked as a design engineer
and project manager at Bell Northern Research and GTE Automatic
Electric, where he earned five U.S. patents for the design
of Stored Program (Computer) Controlled telephone equipment.
He also worked for General Telephone & Electronics (GTE) International,
where he provided senior level marketing support for the worldwide
sale of electronic switching equipment including a $50M telecom
network upgrade in Costa Rica.
Some of Tom's accomplishments include:
- Senior VP Operations, Pelmorex Inc.
majority owner of The Weather Network, Meteo Media specialty
television channels and commercial weather services
- Vice President/General Manager, Canadian Satellite Communications
Inc.
Cancom/Satlink Division, a public company listed (TSE, MSE),
now part of Shaw Communications
- Vice President Corporate Planning, CNCP Telecommunications
(now AT&T Canada)
Mr. Moorehead received his B.Sc. Degree at Queen's University.
He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario and a
writer/columnist for Business Times newspapers on technology/business
issues. He is a Director of St. John Ambulance and a member
of the Mississauga Technology Association. |
