Spencer
Ord works as a Senior Investment Analyst with Investment
Saskatchewan, where he co-manages a private capital
portfolio of approximately $500 million and provides
due diligence new and follow-on equity investments
in the $3-30 million range.
Spencer
Ord has been involved in venture financing since
2003,
when he
co-established and developed the Calgary chapter of
Keiretsu Forum, the largest accredited angel investor
network
in North America. During this time, he led the
due diligence on over 150 investment
prospects alongside various private equity investors
and early stage venture capitalists, co-managing
a portfolio
of over $50 million in private equity. He has been
featured in various publications, including Alberta
Venture
Magazine's annual financial directory
called "The
Money Book".
Prior to Keiretsu, Mr. Ord was a liaison interpreter for the
Alberta Government in Edmonton and Taiwan. He translated legal,
technical and business documents from Chinese to English and
acted as interpreter for various high level Canadian and Chinese
delegations. He speaks Mandarin Chinese fluently and acts
in various interim capacities, from CEO to investment advisor,
for companies from the Pacific Rim that are expanding into
Canada.
Spencer Ord earned an MBA in Finance from Purdue University
and an International Business B.Comm. from the University
of Alberta. |
