Greg Shannon,

Greg Shannon
is a lawyer in both Canada and the United States. He has practiced
in the areas of taxation, business law, securities law, and
sports & entertainment law. In 2001, Greg became a partner
in Miller Thomson LLP, an international law firm.
Greg was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. After completing
his legal training in both the United States and Canada, he
practiced with a tax and securities firm in southern California.
In 1993, Greg returned to Canada and practiced law in Kelowna,
B.C., until moving to Alberta in 1997.
Greg has extensive involvement in contract negotiations including
cross border ventures; structuring financings for both private
and public companies in high tech, industrial and mining sectors;
and off -shore tax planning for corporations and professional
athletes. He has acted as counsel for various high tech and
emerging enterprises in Alberta, B.C. and USA. Also, he has
lectured at numerous seminars on cross-border tax, estate
planning and corporate finance topics.
Since 1996, Greg has been a director and Second Vice-Chair
of the Canadian Council of Better Business Bureaus Inc. In
1999, he co-founded The Calgary Enterprise Forum Society,
a non profit organization that fosters development of high
growth and emerging enterprises in Calgary and southern Alberta.
Greg earned his B.B.A. degree at Simon Fraser University,
an L.L.M. at Boston University and J.D. from the California
School of Law, San Diego. He is a member of the Alberta, British
Columbia, California State and District of Columbia Bar Associations.
Greg is also an accomplished musician and pianist, with a
degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music. |
