Deal Flow
Our primary source of presenting
companies is by "referral" from other angels and venture capital associates who work in liaison with one another. In most cases they have evaluated the opportunity and one of their members has previous experience in the industry application.
SmartAngels also receives "referrals" from
accounting and legal firms, who have first-hand knowledge
of the client company and its principals.
Deal Screening
Due to the international nature of our forum, we use a pre-screening process to qualify the companies that we introduce to our members.
Each presenter must submit a satisfactory business plan which is reviewed by management and/or members of our advisory committee. In addition, principals of the company need to provide references and complete a short form questionaire.
Fee Structure
Our presentation fees are based on a sliding scale fee structure, which can range between $1750 - $3750k (US), depending on the services required. We guarantee that each video or power point presentation will be brought to the attention of our members on a timely basis.
The service includes filming of a ten minute video (with an interviewer) and editing to the finished product. You supply the speaker and the content; we provide the interviewer and the filming/editing services, either at your location or in a production facility in a city near to you.
Our interviewers are professional broadcasters with several years experience. The video can be linked to your web site or used for marketing purposes in a DVD format.
Our Process
Pre-Qualification
Entrepreneur submits executive summary to Smart Angels via website.
Within 48 hours, Smart Angels replies to entrepreneur with feedback and decision as to whether he/she is eligible to move forward for video production.
Deals referred through other angel networks are automatically pre-qualified, and may be eligible for a discount.

Video Production
Entrepreneur and SmartAngels develop an approppriate mix of interview questions, which are used to produce a ten minute video or PowerPoint presentation.
Entrepreneur meets with Smart Angels in his/her locality to conduct the interview and record the presentation.
The recording is sent to our production facility, where it is edited and enhanced (with special effects) to create a professional video presentation.

Video Distribution
Utilizing streaming video technology, Smart Angels sends the completed video and/or PowerPoint to its international membership of accredited investors.
Smart Angels follows up with members who have indicated an interest in the presenting company. We guarantee at least 100 new introductions per month.
At the option of the entrepreneur, SmartAngels is retained for 30 - 60 days in order to accelerate this process.
